HOPEDALE, LA

A recent trip to Hopedale, Louisiana provided some great content and some amazing fish. Charlie Poole met me in New Orleans for a couple of days of fishing with Captain Greg Moon. The winter mornings were chilly as we headed out of the marina into the bayou. Conditions were great for a boat ride but less than ideal for fishing. A large negative tide and cold water temps had the fish holding a little deeper to begin each day. Luckily Captain Greg Moon has seen it all and was able to adjust to find fish. We were successful in landing multiple redfish, including 2 over 30 lbs and a few Sheepshead. Louisiana is a special place and redfish on a fly is as enjoyable as it gets.
